As well as being the author of How to Drive a Tank … and Other Everyday Tips for the Modern Gentleman and running my own National Geographic Adventure Channel, I have also edited two other books – one biography, one novel – been a contributing magazine editor, advertising and branding copywriter, occasional photographer, and spent a decade in the TV and film business.

As a journalist I’ve written for publications all over Europe and the Middle East from Esquire and Business Traveller to the Guardian and Parliament magazine. I have lived and worked in five out of seven continents and continue to travel whenever I can.
